About Us
Tri-League Inc. began in 1973 and was started by William Bell, William Pavick, and Maralyn Camarda with help from others in the neighborhood. The "Tri" came from three fields two at McGowan and one at Crossburn. These individuals organized a team of 65 boys who played alternately in whatever pickup games they could schedule. They realized that they had hit upon something and voted in 1974 to organize a league structure with six teams. Now a name was needed, so they all agree because it was created with three ball diamonds and they were all near west 130th street why not W.130th St. Tri-League?
Tri-League Inc. is a non-profit, non-political community organization run solely by volunteers. We offer a full summer of athletic activity, including Tee Ball for ages 4 to 6 year olds, baseball for boys and fast pitch softball for girls ages 7 to 18.
Our season runs on weeknights during the months of May, June, July, and early August, with all games generally beginning at 6:00 p.m. The month of May is reserved for practices and practice games, with regular season play scheduled to begin Tuesday after Memorial Day through July. League play-offs are scheduled during the last week of July, first week of August. The majority of our youth leagues schedule two games per week, with the Tee Ball playing a lesser schedule.
Tri-League Inc. is committed to providing every youth in our community the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of youth baseball and softball in a safe, family oriented and educational environment. In addition to teaching the fundamentals of the game, each child will be taught the qualities of good sportsmanship, sense of fair play, respect for the game, and how to compete with class. While the mission of Tri-League is to advance the skill levels of all players, Tri-League will make it our priority to nurture and educate our youth to grow into honest, loyal and hard working citizens as,
THEY ARE OUR FUTURE.
